About St. Dominic's

St. Dominic’s has been committed to improving the healthcare of the people of central Mississippi since 1946. The Dominican Sisters started their healing mission here through operating the Jackson Infirmary.

Since then, St. Dominic’s has gained the reputation as a premier healthcare organization. Our Christian healing ministry goes hand-in-hand with the latest medical advancements to produce a level of care that addresses the specific needs of each patient, from the physical to the spiritual.

St. Dominic Hospital, a subsidiary of St. Dominic’s Health Services, is a 571-bed, not-for-profit acute care hospital owned by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Ill. At St. Dominic's, high-tech services are blended with high-touch care to produce the true miracle of healing. We entrust some of the most advanced technology into the hands of highly-skilled and caring physicians, surgeons and healthcare professionals.

St. Dominic's commitment to our patients is illustrated through consistently high patient satisfaction scores, ongoing clinical performance initiatives, excellent medical outcomes and national designations and awards.

Despite these outward signs of excellence, we choose to focus on the patient, extending a level of compassion, care and service that is unparalleled and uncompromised by changing healthcare trends.

Today considered one of the region's most comprehensive hospitals, St. Dominic's boasts outstanding facilities offering a variety of programs and services. At the same time, our hospital has maintained its commitment to the healing ministry established by the Dominican Sisters over 60 years ago. We are proud to serve generations of the same family who appreciate our personal touch combined with high quality healthcare.

St. Dominic's Hospital is a strong leader in Heart Services, Cancer Services, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, Maternal Newborn Care, Behavioral Health Services and a wide range of other medical specialties. Comprehensive medical, surgical and emergency care is designed to provide each patient with the highest level of care. St. Dominic’s passionate commitment extends into surrounding communities through programs like the Community Health Clinic, Care-A-Van mobile clinic, St. Catherine’s retirement community and New Directions for Over 55.

About Us

In June 2007 St. Dominic's Jackson applied to the Mississippi Department of Health for a Certificate of Need to build a 71-bed acute care satellite campus in Madison County east of Interstate 55 at the Galleria Parkway and the planned Reunion Parkway interchange. Madison County is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States, yet it ranks the lowest in Mississippi in the number of acute care hospital beds per capita. To gain permission to build this project, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
